With the beginning of the school year upon us, my favorite store Target has been all a-buzz with new clothes. With the new school clothes mixed in with the summer clothes, there is so much to choose from.
Something you should know about me … I’m not a huge fan of shopping for myself, but I love shopping for my kiddo. While my daughter is only 3, we don’t really do back to school shopping yet. [She is in year round daycare/preschool.] On my last couple of trips to Target, I saw some great clothes. Tops. Pants. Skirts. Dresses. Shoes. Accessories. It made me wish that Emily was headed to school … I know I should bite my tongue. But, it would give me an excuse to buy Emily some great new clothes.
With all of this being said, I knew that I had to share some of my current favorites with all of you. I need to spread the knowledge and love.
Clothing Makes the Man … or Child …
Cat & Jack is one of my favorite clothing lines from Target. Most of my daughter’s wardrobe consists of Cat & Jack clothes. While searching through the racks, I came across this t-shirt. [I’m lucky enough that my daughter fits into girls x-small clothes at only 3 years old.] I love that it promotes all of these wonderful school subjects and is still a really cute shirt. And at $6.00 it is quite the bargain.

Now what goes really well with a cute t-shirt? A killer pair of leggings!
Cat & Jack does it again with these “out of this world” leggings. The planet print is fun and goes great with the shirt above. School ready and stylish. Plus, they are also $6.00/pair.

What’s better than leggings? [Nothing in my opinion … LOL.] A great pair of jeans! If your kids love running around in jeans and t-shirts, then look no further. Cat & Jack also makes the perfect pair of jeans as well.
When I saw these, I immediately wanted them in my size. While my daughter isn’t a big fan of jeans, I am a HUGE fan. I loved them when I was a kid too. I love skinny jeans and these were just too cute for me to not feature them in this post. They’re quite the deal at $12.99/pair!

If you’re little girl is anything like my little girl, then she LOVES dresses! Emily would wear dresses all day and night. Actually she does, most days. Dresses during the day and nightgowns at night. So when looking for new clothes for Emily, I always start with dresses.
Cat & Jack doesn’t let me down in this department either. Their dresses are some of the best. They’re cute and durable at the same time. They also have twirl-ability too, which is very important to my almost 4 year old. Take the dress below for instance. It’s cute … pink with outlined stars. And the skirt has total twirl-ability. I know my daughter would love twirling in this dress. And moms, it won’t break the bank … a steal at $9.99.
Now just because my daughter loves dresses doesn’t mean that I should rule out skirts. Something that she can still twirl in, but not pants. [I do make her wear bike shorts underneath dresses and skirts still … hey, she is 3 after all.]
Something you should know about my daughter … she’s a dancer. Anytime that she can get her hands on a tutu, she is 100% for it! Tutus all the way. When I came across this Cat & Jack wonder, I knew it would be for Emily. Plus it has a great paper airplane pattern on it. Again, she’s stylish and school ready. This skirt comes at a price of $19.99.
Now that we have covered the basics of clothes … tops, pants, jeans, dresses, and skirts … let’s move on to shoes!
Walk a mile in these shoes …
My daughter is a girly girl. 100% girly girl. She loves dresses and bows and looking/feeling fancy. She also loves dress shoes. She’ll wear her dress shoes every day. It’s a challenge sometimes to get her to wear anything else.
The shoes below are currently one of Em’s FAVORITES. She is wearing them to school today. She loves them. The toe area is all scuffed up, but she doesn’t mind. They’re her favorite shoes. When she’s wearing dresses, these shoes are her top pick. They’re comfortable, stylish, simple, and affordable. Target and Cat & Jack do it again! Only $9.99 for these beauties. [They even have they in glittery black as well.]
Now we can’t always wear dress shoes. We have to throw some sneakers into the mix. Do you think that Cat & Jack can give us a great pair of sneakers for our girls? Of course they can!
I couldn’t put just any old pair of sneakers on this post. They had to be of Emily’s style. So, if they aren’t for you … or your daughter’s … style, then sorry. I saw them and loved them. They’re shiny, metallic, and really cute. I know that Emily would love them. They look great for running and playing on the playground, and cute for the school room. And the price isn’t so bad either. Kind of steal at $16.99.
Dress shoes … check. Sneakers … check. What’s next? Let’s move out of footwear, and into some accessories.
It’s all about the accessories …
Emily might still be a little young for major accessories, but there are some that she really does loves. Let’s start from the top of her sweet little head and work our way down. While Emily HATES when I brush her hair (and I am not using that word loosely, she really does hate it), she loves hair accessories. Headbands. Hair bows. Hair clips. You name it, this girl loves it. So, when I’m in Target I always take the time to peruse the accessories section. Take this adorable headband set. It consists of a white headband, an iridescent headband, a cat ear headband, and a rhinestone headband. They’re a great deal at $5.99

Emily has a bunch of hair bows and hair clips. Take the flower clip below for example. She loves bows, but flowers as well. I’m pretty sure that she has this flower clip in every color they make. Her favorite has to be the green one. They’re also a steal at $2.50 per clip.

Emily doesn’t wear jewelry to school, but she loves wearing “play” jewelry when she’s at home. So occasionally I will buy her some bracelets and necklaces for her to play with. Nothing too expensive, but still cute. Well, Cat & Jack does the trick there. They have so much cute stuff, but they are also reasonably priced. So it doesn’t break the bank. Take the set below. How cute are these bracelets? I know that Emily would love them. And what a deal at $4.999 for a set of 3 bracelets.
Now I did mention that Emily loves necklaces as well … so take a look at this necklace. It’s another great Cat & Jack find from Target. It’s only $4.99 and ADORABLE! I know that Emily would love all of the charms on it. She currently loves the new Disney Junior show “Fancy Nancy” so the Paris theme would be perfect for her.

As you can tell Target is one of my favorite stores. Not only do they have everything you need for your home, but they have amazing clothes too. Yes, they have clothes for adults … but the kids clothes are the best. Especially, Cat & Jack clothes. Head on over to your local Target or use my links to shop Target online and see what I mean!
