Day 6 – What is your zodiac sign and does it fit your personality?
I was excited when I read today’s topic. Today I’ve been asked to delve into what my sign is and if I think that it fits my personality. I know some people who are into astrology and they can tell if you’re a lot like your sign. Unfortunately, I am not one of those people. I know nothing about “being a Sagittarius” except that the dates range from late November to late December.
Fun fact for you all … Emily and I are BOTH Sagittarius. Knowing that my daughter and I are the same sign made me even want to find out more about our sign. Let’s see if I am a true Sagittarius, and then I can see if Emily is becoming one.
Let’s find out more about my sign …
My zodiac sign … Sagittarius
Dates of Sagittarius … November 22 – December 21
The symbol … The Archer
- Great sense of humor
- Promises more than can deliver
- Very impatient
- Will say anything no matter how undiplomatic
- Being outdoors
- Clingy people
- Being constrained
- Off-the-wall theories
Curious and energetic, Sagittarius is one of the biggest travelers among all zodiac signs. Their open mind and philosophical view motivates them to wander around the world in search of the meaning of life.
Sagittarius is extrovert, optimistic and enthusiastic, and likes changes. Sagittarius-born are able to transform their thoughts into concrete actions and they will do anything to achieve their goals.
Like the other fire signs, Sagittarius needs to be constantly in touch with the world to experience as much as possible. The ruling planet of Sagittarius is Jupiter, the largest planet of the zodiac. Their enthusiasm has no bounds, and therefore people born under the Sagittarius sign possess a great sense of humor and an intense curiosity.
Freedom is their greatest treasure, because only then they can freely travel and explore different cultures and philosophies. Because of their honesty, Sagittarius-born are often impatient and tactless when they need to say or do something, so it’s important to learn to express themselves in a tolerant and socially acceptable way.

How does this apply to me?
Reading all of this information, I can say that there are some things about me that are definitely in line with being a Sagittarius. And there are definitely some things that aren’t a part of my personality.
What’s the same between me and Sagittarius?
I’m curious and generous. I have a great sense of humor, or so I would like to think. I love travelling and seeing new places, even though I’m not a fan of flying. I like being outdoors, except when it’s cold out. [This is why I need to live in a climate where I can be outside year round.] I do like philosophy and my freedom. I can be idealistic, but I try to be a realist now that I’m a mom. I am very impatient … it’s a huge character flaw that I have. I know I need to work on it, especially having a 4 year old. It is also said that Sagittarius are enthusiastic and optimistic, which I definitely think that I am both.
What’s different between me and Sagittarius?
According to the information, Sagittarius are extroverts, promise more than they can deliver, will say anything no matter how undiplomatic, tactless, and like change. I definitely am not an extrovert. Definitely not Anyone who knows me knows that I am an introvert. It was after Emily was born that I started coming out of my shell. Promise more than they can deliver? I don’t think I have ever done this. I know that I would never WILLINGLY do it. Being an introvert, I never just say something no matter how undiplomatic. I would rather just sit and collect my thoughts before speaking. I don’t think that I’m tactless. And I DEFINITELY do not like change. Anyone who knows me knows this about me.
Do I see any of this in Emily?
This is a very simple answer … YES. Emily is a lot like me. She doesn’t like change, that’s for sure. So we have that in common. Emily is intensely curious like a true Sagittarius. She has a wonderful sense of humor for a 4 year old. It’s rare for her to not be having fun and laughing at something. She does seem to be “unfiltered” like a Sagittarius, but I am chalking that up to the fact that she is 4 and doesn’t know any better yet. Being outdoors, whether it is being at the beach or playing on a playground, is her favorite thing of all time. She definitely gets that from me and her father.
There are so many correlations between what a true Sagittarius is and how Emily is so far, that I can definitely see our sign in her. We’ll see how that changes as she grows.
