It all started with a girl and a dream! Okay, most things start with a dream … but this was a burning passion that I felt in my heart. I knew this was something that I wanted to do. So, with some time and saving up some money for the equipment, I made my dream come true. I started a podcast.
Why start a podcast?
I have been a big fan of Disney podcasts for a loooooooooong time. My favorite is the Unlocking the Magic podcast. The banter between Connie and Bruce is hilarious. And I love listening to their opinions about the Disney parks. They had seriously made me think about renting a car one time when we’re there. [My husband isn’t keen on the idea, but I think I might be able to get him around to the idea.]
Friends, colleagues, and acquaintances will ask me often about Disney. Knowing that I am a big Disney fan, and a Disney travel agent with Let It Go Journeys. With all of the Disney knowledge I’ve acquired [and am still acquiring] and my love for Disney podcasts, I thought to myself … Why not start a Disney podcast all your own???? So I did just that.
I still kept the podcast connected to the blog, since my Disney side is just one of the many sides there are to me as a mother. If you want to listen, head over to the podcast page.
How is this podcast different from every other Disney podcast?
I’m glad you asked!
Most Disney podcasts will talk about the Disney parks specifically. Mine isn’t JUST about the parks. My podcast is a lot like this blog. The Many Sides of Mom is about the many sides that there are to me as a mom. It’s about the celebrating the many sides that there are to every mother. Because we seem to lose our identities a bit when we become mothers. And I wanted my podcast to be like that.
There is more than one side to Disney. I know there is a lot you can talk about when it comes to the Disney parks. There is Walt Disney World, Disneyland, and Disneyland Paris/Shanghai/Tokyo. But there is more than just that. There are other Disney destinations: Aulani in Hawaii, beach resorts in Vero Beach and Hilton Head. How about Disney cruises? And we can’t forget Adventures by Disney. So there is definitely more than one port in the storm when it comes to Disney travel.
Besides Disney travel, we can also talk about Disney movies. I’ll be reviewing new Disney movies on the podcast, letting you know what I thought about them. How about Disney TV shows? I have a four year old and we have Disney Junior playing on the TV the majority of the time. Usually it is just background noise, but Emily will occasionally pause in her playing to watch a few minutes. So you can bet I’ll be reviewing some shows from there. Also, there are Disney live shows to talk about. I am hoping to take Emily to see Aladdin (the tour of the Broadway show) soon. And not to mention, Disney On Ice.
How about all the Disney rumors out there? There are so many rumors produced every day. I plan to talk about some of them at some point and let you know my thought. We have to debunk these things before they get out of hand. Then there is REAL Disney news. Most of it will be news I am super excited to talk about.
What else is there??? Well …. there is: Disney toys, Disney clothes, Disney products, Disney books, Disney music, AND MORE.
There is just SO much to talk about. I know this is going to be a really fun journey for me. I can’t wait to put all of my opinions out there or you all to hear.
