As I am writing this, we have said goodbye to 2020. A year filled with pain and sadness but also filled with love and happiness. 2020 was a rollercoaster of a year. But now, we have started a new year. It’s time for some changes and new goals. The start of a new year means the start of a new chapter. Now let’s open to the new chapter with my goals for 2021.
My goals for 2021 …
Spending more time with family!
Being in a pandemic, one that we haven’t been able to do much of is spending time with family. We have been lucky enough to see some of our family, but not others. In 2021, I’m definitely hoping to spend more time with my family. Going to barbecues at family’s houses. Spending the day on the beach with family. Just being together when we had to spend so much time apart.
Blogging More!
I started this blog a few years ago. While I have wanted to spend so much time working on it, things have come before my work here. So a goal for me in 2021, to publish a blog post at least once a month. Maybe by the end of 2021, I will be up to once a week. I want to give this blog the time and attention that it deserves.
More episodes of The Disney Life Happy Wife Podcast!
Last week I put out episode 1 of season 2 of The Disney Life Happy Wife Podcast. I am beyond thrilled to be in season 2 of the podcast. My podcast where I talk about all things Disney. Bringing my love and passion for Disney to all of you makes me so happy. With the pandemic and homeschooling Emily, things seemed to fall by the waysides there as well. So in 2021, I want to bring more episodes. Hopefully an episode every other week.
New career moves!
Since I started homeschooling Emily in November I have been thinking about starting a career as a teacher’s assistant or even an elementary school teacher. I never thought that being a teacher could be in my future, but now I am really thinking about it. Watching Emily learn makes me so happy. To see her mind work and see things coming together is wonderful. I am really enjoying it. Do I think that homeschooling is in the cards for us for the future? No. I do want Emily to experience traditional school.
As some may know, I am a Disney travel agent. I work with the company, Let It Go Journeys. I have loved working with them, but have had ideas to start moving out onto my own. With some research, I know what I need to do to make this a reality. So in 2021, I am going to start the process.
Adventures with my family!
With the pandemic upon us in 2020, there was no traveling starting in March. We were lucky enough to go on our annual pilgrimage to Disney in February, right before the pandemic hit. We made a decision that our next trip will be in November 2022. But we still want to get away at least once during the summer. Overnight or for a weekend. Something that I have never done, but Emily keeps asking us to do is go camping. I’m in the process of checking out fun family camping places in New England. I think this could be a lot of fun.
If you have a family camping place that you love, let me know! I would love some recommendations.
One of my biggest loves is reading. I love getting lost in a really good book. My pile of books to be read grows larger all the time. My goal for this year is to make some headway on it. At least get a few books into it. I love reading, but never seem to have the time to do it. By bedtime, I am usually too tired. This year, I am going to set the time aside to do it.
There you have it … my goals for 2021. I am sure I will add more to the list as I think of them, but this is the initial list.

Now that we are in a new year, I hope everyone has a healthy and safe 2021. With the COVID pandemic still upon us, please be safe. Wear a mask. Wash your hands. Clean/sanitize high-use areas. And if you’re feeling sick, stay home. Protect yourself and others. Hopefully, in 2021, we can get this pandemic under control and go back to somewhat “normal”. [Fingers crossed … knock on wood.]
