About Me

I’m the boss lady and this is my mini boss!

Hello everyone!  Welcome to The Many Sides of Mom!  I’m so happy to share this journey with all of you.  Besides that, I am so thankful that you found my blog and decided to keep reading.

Now that you’ve found me … let me tell you a little about me and my world.

My name is Kristin.  I am a 30-something lady living in the smallest state of this great nation of ours.  I was born and raised in Worcester, MA, but moved to “Little Rhody” before I married my husband.  I didn’t know I would come to love my new state as much as I do.  I have always said “Good things come in small packages”, and Rhode Island is no exception.

Like I said, I moved to Rhode Island to live with my husband.  He was raised in the boonies of RI.  Will really is the yin to my yang.  We are opposites in so many ways.  I’m a self-proclaimed city girl.  I grew up in a city and love everything about them.  I love the noise and the activity.  I love going to concerts and plays, libraries, bookstores, restaurants, and more.  The activity draws me.  Will is a self-proclaimed hillbilly country boy.  He loves the quiet.  He hunts and fishes.  He is drawn to the serenity and solidarity of it all.  So the city and country came to terms and the country won.  I moved to Rhode Island and have been happy ever since.

A number of years later, Will and I had our lives turned upside down.  We became parents.  I became a mother.  To call myself a mother is still surreal.  Emily was an 8lb. 4oz. bundle of joy.  She was an amazing baby; very laid back and go with the flow.  It was love at first sight.  She has definitely given me a run for my money.  But, this is one journey I have been happy to be on.

Besides Will, Emily, and I … at home we have a menagerie of animals.  And it’s only growing.  We have 3 dogs, 1 foster dog, 2 cats, and 1 fish.  We are also getting chickens in the Spring, and possibly a bunny in the Spring as well.  Like I said … our menagerie is growing.

Onto my blog … I chose the name “The Many Sides of Mom” for a reason.  When people learn you’re a mother, they tend to put you in a certain category or box.  I’m here to break out of that said category.  There are so many different sides to being a mother.  I’m going to show the world that.

So what will you read in my blog?  I plan on taking you on my journey throughout motherhood and life.  You’ll see into my family life.  I’ll share my highs and lows with Emily.  What’s exciting and frustrating.  I’ll talk about new products and things that I love for her.  Toys, clothes, foods, books.  Anything and everything.  You’ll also come to the different places that we visit.  Day trips.  Weekend trips.  Week long trips.  If we’re going somewhere, you’ll read about it.  One of our favorite places to visit is Walt Disney World.  You’ll definitely follow us there.  I’ll also show you my life in the “country”.  Gardening.  Taking care of animals.  DIY.  Crafts.  Something cool that I’m doing, you’ll see it.  I’ll even tell you about how I did it.  I’ll talk about books that I am reading, when I have time to read.

Basically, you’ll see every side to this mom.  So sit back and enjoy the ride.

Thank you for taking this journey with me.  I can’t wait to share it all with you!

KRISTIN💓The Many Sides of Mom
In 2020 we started Emily on the Kiwi Crate by @kiw In 2020 we started Emily on the Kiwi Crate by @kiwico_inc ... and she loved it. For Christmas, my mom decided to sign Em up for a crate again, but we decided to change the box. We decided to do the Atlas crate.
.
Emily has always loved learning about new places. And we thought this would be such a fun crate for her. In her first Atlas crate, she learned about France. She loved learning new things about a place she’s already heard her mommy talk about (France is on my travel bucket list). We even got to make a stained glass window and a French racing cyclist.
.
If your 6+ year old is interested in learning more about the world ... definitely check out the Atlas crate by @kiwico_inc ... it’s perfect!
.
Thanks Mom/Nana for the awesome gift!!!!!
Recently we studied fossils in homeschool. So to Recently we studied fossils in homeschool. So to surprise Emily, I got her this awesome set of rocks, minerals, and fossils. She LOVED it. Looking at each one and trying to identify it on the mat. It was great.
.
Emily has always loved rocks. She always picks some out when we’re on hikes or walks. Sometimes she just want to paint them, or keep them as they are. She just loves rocks.
.
Looks like I’ve got a budding geologist ... or maybe archaeologist ... on my hands.
Last year @thewrightscoopri started a Test Batch C Last year @thewrightscoopri started a Test Batch Club ... testing out new flavors to possibly add to their menu.
.
This week was the first week. And boy was it a winner. This flavor was delicious and sweet. Vanilla ice cream, a color swirl, sprinkles, and pieces of cookie.
.
If you’ve ever had @wrightsbakeryri Sprinkle Cookies ... then you know how amazing they are. To me ... this ice cream is the sprinkle cookies in ice cream form.
.
Amazing!!! Here’s hoping this flavor becomes a regular flavor. Great job Wright Scoop!
Journal writing today. . I asked Emily to draw a p Journal writing today.
.
I asked Emily to draw a picture and write about our rabbit Judy. She was so excited about this writing assignment.
.
I think my little kindergartner did a pretty good job. What do you think?
